It was with deep regret and many many hours of soul searching to try and find a way around an awful situation...that we decided to give our gorgeous yellow lab Buster up in August this year,we discovered this brilliant place and got in touch with June, she helped us see that even with how upsetting it was to give Buster up we were doing the right thing by giving him the chance to go to a home where he had people spending more time with him, since we had got him my job had become more demanding and I couldnt spend as much time walking him, playing with him as i would have liked. We took Buster in and have kept a close eye on his stay at the kennels and were very happy(if not a litle sad too as it means we cant keep up to date with his progress)to see he was up for adoption, and looking today I cant find him on either the dogs for re-homing or the dogs re-homed???I am presuming he has recently been re-homed.Thanks for all the help and the reassurance he will be fine and we did the right thing.Keep up the good work!!!!!If you have re-homed Buster the 22month yellow lab I hope you have many happy years with him and his excitable ways!!Thanks again June.

hi its me again milos doing well and after some months of long and hard thinking about getting milo a companion we decided it would be the best (AT THE MOMENT)not to have another lab as much as i would LOVE another we decided it wasnt fair because the house and car are not big enough for 2 large dogs, but it didnt end there milo and myself where having breakfast when the doorbell rang and it was my friend with her puppy (jack russell) and going against everything we said about NO puppies, we offered her a home. Match made in heaven milo and poppy were made for each other, they spend every hour together, playing, eating & sleeping(bit of a size difference) but they dont mind.if someone could tell me how to upload pics i would love for everyone to see how milo is.

It continues to get worse regarding the animal situation in our home.

We have had the bunny returned to us when we got back from our holidays and \'Oh no\', the son & hubby have the watery eyes and sneezing with him. At least a rabbit can live outside. We couldn\'t bear to give up on another pet.

Funny how I always recognise people by their dogs, especially the lab people... and it feels wrong that more people than ever are buying labs now, obviously they are trying to upset me.

I have to stop being so touchy!

Recently whilst in Scotland, we came across a family that had three labs, yellow, choc and black. I was soooo jealous!

Maybe in 40 years when my son has left home and I live a a disabled shelter because the hubby has ran off to Vegas, then a pup can keep me company.

Love to June and all you Labrador people.

After thought:
Think about it; have you ever met a horrible human who owns a lab? I haven\'t.

We had Eddie from Labrador welfare, they are so helpful and efficient. We love Eddie dearly and he soon became part of our family. I would recommend anyone wanting a dog to contact them, it was the best thing we did!

I left a message 1year ago to say I hope to find another lab from this amazing charity and I\'m pleased to say it could be soon, as for milo he\'s the best we recently took our first camping holiday with him (in a tent) it was the best hol ever milo still enjoys swimming (in summer) bit cold now so he is spoilt with a momthly warm hydrobath and we have just finished training so we can take him mountain
biking safely he loves a good run in the forest
weekly. Such a quick learning dog he was matched to us perfectly. Being a childminder I was worried about him but he works well in the house being so gentle around kids knowing playtime is for outside, we are now looking for a friend for him as our 3 guinea pigs died recently I can tell he misses his kisses from them and the hamsters not the same (she bites) so hopefully soon.

We have now had Duke for over 3 months & he really is an absolute treasure, he loves running & playing with other dogs but in the house is quite content to lay quietly unless his toys are out! He is a very clever dog & was superb when I came out of hospital a few weeks ago after a major op, soon realising I wasn\\\'t annoyed with him when he came up to me & went to lay down straight away.
So pleased we got in touch with Labrador Welfare

Just got back from our hols camping in Ashbourne. The look on Errols face was a picture. Were they honestly expecting me to rough it at my age! As the week went on he gave himself the job of sitting outside the tent and saying hello to everyone as they went passed. We found a nice steady walk for him on the Tissington trail. As usual he made new friends and seemed to really enjoy the holiday. Hopefully we can take him again next year.

Well, we have just come back from holiday (camping at Whitby) and there is not alot that I can complain about with Harvey. He was (as he always is) the perfect dog. He absolutely loved the beaches and was able to run round like the nutter he is. He was brilliant at night and just slept on his cushion in the tent and didn\'t once try to escape under the canvas. He finally discovered that he was a dog and that he could bark as he did not like it when the kids went off playing on the beach without him.

I can honestly say that Labrador Welfare have done the best job ever matching us with Harvey and again a great big thanks and I wish we had done this sooner.

Would recommend anyone to use the easyfundraising website to help Lab Welfare, I\'ve used it for about 4 months now and \"raised\" over £60 without really trying. We\'ve had our Lab for over a year now and he\'s an absolute dream - June does a great job of matching you up

My Black Lab passed away recently. I had him since my heart bypass in 2000. I and my wife have such a void. I desperately need another black lab for joy, companionship and comfort.

Just come back from fun day at Rainbow kennels. Such a joy to meet so many happy dogs and happy dog owners, not one grumble or growl to be heard. For years, before they all sadly passed away I used to be mom to a family of terriers. Then I adopted my lab \'Paddy\' in April this year. It was so pleasing that today every dog Paddy wanted to play with (and he wants to play with every dog he meets)they also wanted to play with him.
It was great to meet some dogs I have only previously seen on the web site and they were as lovely in real life as they are in the photos. Labrador owners are as nice as their dogs and I\'m proud to be part of that pack.Thoroughly enjoyed the day and will definatly go again next year. Thanks again to all at Lab welfare.XX

We have had Duke for just over 2 weeks & can\'t believe how well he has settled. Our old black lab Zak died 6 weeks ago & when we were contacted to say there was a suitable match we weren\'t sure if it was too soon, but as soon as we saw Duke we knew he was right for us. He loves going for walks in the park, chasing his ball & getting used to meeting other dogs & people. He has settled very quickly at home to say he was only 18 months old when we got him. Thanks to everyone involved in rehoming, you do a great job.
